This short sequence presents a visual conversation young black woman are having with their sexual identity. The series questions the sensuality and fetishisation of the black female form with specific reference to the 1970s era of Blaxploitation in cinema. The Raunch, starring model Vanessa Ohenlen as Cherry B is a sequence of stills from a satirical, hypothetical erotic film exploring the ever-changing discourse in black female representation.
As two bi-racial women of of colour this series is very close to our hearts and inspired by personal experience. Everything is shot on analogue medium format film and 35mm
