Listen back: Reprezent Radio with Poppy Ajudha

27 Nov 2017

In case you didn’t know yet, every other Sunday the gals of gal-dem grace the airwaves of the wonderful youth-run station at Reprezent Radio.

We bring you the newest and best in UK and international mellow vibes to as you rest up from the weekend’s indiscretions and fix up for the week ahead. As well as tunes upon tunes, on the show we also tackle the tough subjects and reflect on hot and spicy current debates, trending topics and the legacies of musicians past. Every time, we do so in the company of some of our favourite creatives out and about right now, ranging from the likes of afrobeats producer Juls all the way to French-Cuban alternative duo Ibeyi or jazz vocalist Zara McFarlane.

In the studio last week, we were joined by the incredibly talented modern jazz singer-songwriter Poppy Ajudha to catch her just ahead of her headline show at the Peckham Liberal Club and her journey into the world of jazz. We spoke about the diversity of London universities, acknowledging the validity of your creative career and whether anxiety dreams are a good or bad omen.

Produced by gal-dem resident DJ Lil C and hosted by me, Natty Kasambala, and Varaidzo, catch up with the giggle-filled episode via the Mixcloud link below.
