A-COLD-WALL* Makes Avant-garde Accessible For London Fashion Week Men’s AW18

12 Jan 2018

A-COLD-WALL* founder Samuel Ross recently tweeted that he wants his work to do to the talking and, judging by his A/W 18 show, his work certainly is. The best word to describe the show would be harsh, with each of the models aggressively walking down a bright white runway, whilst the sinister music in the background (that started off sounding like an alarm before developing into something out of a horror film) progressively got louder and louder. All of the pieces were beautifully crafted, with outerwear being the focus and blues and browns being a common motif.

Despite some of the head wear featured being quite avant-garde, the majority of the pieces were very wearable and would upgrade any outfit. It was also refreshing to see a truly diverse mix of models, with dark-skinned models being heavily featured. Perhaps this is part of the reason why the audience at the A-COLD-WALL* show was so diverse, with those in attendance including Dean, the South Korean singer. When Samuel Ross ran out for a brief five seconds at the end, it was hard not to feel the ripple of excitement within the audience. A-COLD-WALL* brought something fresh to the table.
