Panther Power

23 Dec 2016
Art is a powerful medium and a great form of communication.  There are approximately 6,500 spoken languages in the world today however, art speaks to us all on the same level and we take our own understanding from what is exhibited to us. The art form of editorials can serve so many different purposes, from entertaining to informing. But there is no better way to create an editorial than with the aim to inspire, make a change and leave a powerful message to everyone involved – especially the audience.

Thus came my latest project, inspired by the Black Panther Party, founded in 1966 by Huey Newton and Bobby Seale, in Oakland, California. With the ongoing issues of racism in today’s society, it was even more important to bring modernised and fresh Panthers to St Paul’s Cathedral, London. The models represent all Black Beauty, inspired by the likes of Angela Davis and Kathleen Cleaver.
